during lactation on small and middle scale farms in northwestern CroatiaDJURICIC D., SAMARDZIJA M., GRIZELJ J., DOBRANIC T.Abstract :
The aim of the study was to determine
causative agents of bovine
subclinical mastitis and efficacy
of treatment during lactation.
Milk samples were taken from
408 udder quarters on small and
middle size farms, in the province
of Podravina, northwestern part of
Croatia. All cows had > 400.000
somatic cells per millilitre of milk.
Only 12.5 % of samples were bacteriological
negative. Antibiogram
was performed using chemotherapeutics
based on sensitivity
results. Treatment, with no use of
parenteral antibiotics, was succesful
in 66 % of cows, while subclinical
mastitis remained uncured
in 34 %. Get the PDF Contact person : djuricic@vet.hr |
