Ann. Méd. Vét., 2013, 157 (2), pp 99-102 Recurrent giardiasis in a dogCARON Y., PALUCH C., LOSSON B.Abstract :
Recurrent diarrhoea due to G. intestinalis
in a 1 year old boxer was observed
for 5 months despite several appropriate
antiprotozoal treatments.
Diagnosis was realized thanks to
direct examination of the feces and
analysis of copro-antigen of the protozoa.
Finally a treatment of the environment
and the animal (albendazole
associated with a shampoo containing
chlorhexidine) permited to cure
the infection. The failures of the different treatments are discussed and
hypotheses are proposed. Get the PDF Contact person : ycaron@ulg.ac.be |
