Depending on localisation and
direction of the penetration of the
foreign object, different sensitive
structures of the hoof might be
injured. This article describes
relevant anatomical structures,
clinical examination, diagnosis,
therapeutic approaches, possible
risks, post-operative management
as well as associated risks
