Ann. Méd. Vét., 2007, 151 (1), pp 01-05 Digestive and pulmonary parasitism of sheep in MoroccoPALIARGUES T., MAGE C., BOUKALOUCH A., KHALAYOUNE K.Abstract :
Infection of sheep with internal parasites was studied in 6 herds originating from three main sheep husbandry regions. Diagnosis of parasitic infection was realized on 702 faecal exams, carried out in winter, spring and autumn 2006.
The infection rate of ewes with
gastrointestinal nematodes was over 68%, except in spring when it was only 40.7%. Infection with Nematodirus sp. reached a
maximum frequency of 23.8%.
Eimeria were found in 55.6% and 73.1% of sheep.
Infections with lungworms were dominated by Muellerius capillaris, and their frequency depended on the season ranging from 35,5% to 68,8%. The excretion of larvae of M. capillaris was high in most ewes. Get the PDF Contact person : thomas.paliargues@ceva.com |
