Four hundred ticks were collected from 56 dogs. Samples were collected from in 3 veterinary clinics of Libreville. Dogs lived in municipalities of Libreville and Owendo. Rhipicephalus sanguineus (97%) and Amblyomma variegatum(3%) ticks were identified. R.sanguineus was present in all dogs in municipalities with an intensity of 7.3 ticks per dog. A. variegatum was present on 3 dogs in the fifth district of the city of Libreville. The intensity of infestation was 3.7 ticks per dog. Both arthropods were involved in a mixed infestation in a dog in the first district of Libreville. The probable sources and causes of infestation associated to R. sanguineus were the presence of dogs, cats, parrots, rats, house, cages, places where dogs are
